To explain the letters after my name.........I trained with the
International Institute of Reflexology and gained a Diploma with a distinction grade. That qualifies me to be a
Member of the Association of Reflexologists who promote the professional standards of Reflexology at the highest level. I also hold a
Diploma in Maternity Reflexology so you know you are in safe hands for all aspects of sub-fertility issues, pregnancy and beyond. Although the profession is self-regulated, when you see those initials you know the practitioner is professional, adhering to a strict code of conduct, holds a current First Aid Certificate and is fully insured. I also hold a
Reiki 1 qualification.
Much of my career, prior to becoming a Reflexologist, was spent in education and medicine. Years giving nutritional and dietary advice to hospital patients was perhaps the greatest influence upon my choice of complementary therapy training. I believe that if one is encouraged to look at the prevention of illness through a combination of holistic therapy, exercise and nutrition the need for medical intervention and pharmaceutical medicine is reduced. The body does a great job healing itself
if we give it a chance. For this very reason I am registered with
The Prince's Foundation for Integrated Health whose approach is to look at lives in the round rather than treating symptoms in isolation and promote the use of safe and effective complementary therapies such as reflexology.
I had many years of deadlines and work induced stress and I am only too aware of the effect that can have upon one's health.
On a personal note: I was born in Basingstoke, went to the old Girls' High School, lived from 1974 to 2003 in Earley, Reading and for several years in France. My husband and I plus dog Lottie, live between Basingstoke and Reading and we are the proud owners of 2 (grown-up) children, 4 grandchildren and an allotment!
